About YPA
YourPersonalAccompanist is the project of Cheryl Amelang—pianist, keyboardist, composer, arranger, and teacher. Using an iMac running LogicPro9, she is able to provide anything from simple piano tracks to orchestral arrangements to meet your accompaniment needs. Cheryl has been a worship musician and hymn arranger from childhood, and has been a professional entertainer for over twenty years.
Cheryl has been accompanying other performers since she was eight years old. She has performed in large venues and small ones, theaters, concert halls, and living rooms. Since 2000, Cheryl has been staff accompanist for Blinn College, where she accompanies faculty and students, plays repertoire material for vocalists, and uses her improvisational skills for the theater class. Her versatility gives her the ability to sight read and arrange most genres of music—whatever you need!
Cheryl is also the owner of Brenham Music Academy and specializes in teaching accompaniment skills and improvisation.
